Here we are...a year later. Even though this trip often seems like a long forgotten dream there are moments of shared memory that create a warm vividness. While putting down new roots provides its challenges, it also brings a comfort in the routines of everyday living.

We have always known that the end of this trip would bring us to Nelson. The whole notion of this trip was to find comfort in the uncomfortable. To push ourselves in order to experience a deeper sense of growth. To pay attention to the whispering voice. For if not...this trip would never have happened. To act on the "what ifs" and the "maybe we can", to "give it a go" and see what happens.

We have spent the last 3 months here in the Central Kootenay's and are now going to call it home.

Feels like we are 20 again, our rental suite.

Our view just down the street, and my walk to work!

Started off very bare bones as everything in our tiny van was moved into a much larger suite.

Slowly we are starting to acquire some "comforts" . Hell, we were just excited to have hot water on demand and a flush toilet. For the first month I don't even think we used the bedroom, it just seemed like a waste of space! Benny seems to be adjusting well. However the first few days he just wanted to be in the van.

Paul picked up work at Summit Truck shop, working as a fleet mechanic on logging trucks.

I have hit a few road blocks as far as licensing for Alberta massage therapists working in BC. So right now I'm cleaning vacation rentals. The pay is good and I don't mind the work. I'm staying patient and optimistic that opportunities will open up.

We have had so many great people visit from Alberta and Saskatchewan, here is a few of them. A nice surprise from a sometimes lonely existence in the van.

We are spending our free time exploring the beauty of nature, staying connected to the reasons we wanted to be here.

We have so much love and gratitude to everyone. The support, the kind words, the visitors that travelled to see us. Phone calls and messages just as we needed a familiar voice. Thank you! XO Paul, Leanne and Benny
